Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was critically injured in a knife attack at his Bandra residence early Thursday morning, Indian media reports said.
The incident occurred around 3am when an unidentified intruder broke into his home, leading to a violent confrontation.
The incident has raised significant security concerns in Bandra, an area known for its high-profile residents.
The actor was stabbed six times, suffering two deep cuts during the altercation, the Mumbai police said. Family members present at the time were unharmed.
He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he underwent surgery and was reported to be out of danger.

“An unidentified person intruded into the residence, resulting in injuries to the actor,” Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police Dixit Gedam said.
Khan’s team has released a statement requesting privacy during this difficult time, confirming the attempted burglary and his hospitalisation. They urged the media and fans to be “patient” as the police handle the matter.
They have initiated a manhunt for the suspect and were collecting evidence from the scene, including reviewing security footage from the area.
