Case filed under PECA over transgender Dolphin Ayan’s leaked video

A case has been registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the first time in the province’s history, following the viral circulation of a compromising video of a transgender person, Dolphin Ayan.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Hashtnagri police station based on Ayan’s complaint.

According to the complaint, Ayan was abducted at gunpoint in Shabqadar in 2023 by Imran and six other accomplices. They took Ayan to their room and created the compromising video, subsequently using it to blackmail Ayan.

Ayan discovered the video’s viral spread on social media on October 29. The accused also allegedly contacted Ayan repeatedly.
