The Adiala Jail administration has rebuffed rumours about the withdrawal of facilities from incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan, sources within the prison said on Saturday.
They added Khan has access to all facilities as per the jail manual.
The PTI founder has been behind bars for more than a year as his legal battles after his ouster as the prime minister continue.
Khan was arrested on May 9, 2023, from the premises of Islamabad High Court in a graft case. He was about to be released in July this year, but his hopes were dashed when the national-graft buster arrested him in a state gifts reference hours after a court acquitted both in the unlawful marriage case.
The PTI has claimed that Khan was not getting proper facilities in the jail.
Regular medical check-ups are conducted for the PTI founder, sources said and added that the ex-PM was provided with two English newspapers for reading. The electricity in his cell was “consistently maintained.”
Khan has access to a separate kitchen for his meals and two labourers are available to him.
