Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman has been elected the ameer of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter.

The intra-party elections for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were held on Sunday, where the provincial leadership was elected.

According to a JUI-F spokesperson, over 2165 members were eleigible to vote for the new provincial Ameer and General Secretary.

However, a total of 1,930 people cast votes to elected Rehman as ameer and Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darvesh as secretary general.

The new provincial leadership was be elected through a secret ballot.
