A judicial magistrate in East, Karachi sentenced on Friday a man named Altaf Ali to nine years in prison in a case involving the circulation of explicit photos of a female TikTok star.
The court ordered Ali to pay a fine of Rs60,000 and stated that he would face additional punishment if the fine were not paid.
The prosecution proved the charges against the accused. The court found the accused guilty of “damaging the dignity of the woman” by circulating her explicit photos.
The TikTok star had filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency’s Cyber Crime Circle, alleging that Altaf had invited her and her mother to his home for a project, drugged their juice, and then took explicit photos of them while they were unconscious.
The TikToker claimed that when she and her mother regained consciousness, they discovered the explicit photos on Altaf’s phone, which he had then shared with others.
The FIA arrested Ali and he has been sentenced under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) law.
