Three sextortionists arrested in Sukkur

FIA says accused threated to upload objectionable videos of complainant unless paid one million rupees

The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested three men on charges of sexual harassment and blackmail, including demanding one million rupees in extortion from a woman in Sukkur.

The FIA Cyber Crime Circle Sukkur said that it arrested the three men who threatened to upload objectional videos on social media unless the complainant paid them Rs1 million.

The agency said that comproming videos of the complainant was found on the phones of the accused.

They accused were identified as Bilal Ali Mirani, Arafat Ahmed Ghangro and Salman Magsi.

A case has been registered against the three men under sections 21 (cyber stalking) and 24 (offences committed in relation to information systems) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) Act to be read with sections 34 (common intention), 109 (abetment), 383 (extortion), and 506/B (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIA did not say how the accused gained access to the objectionable videos.
