Pakistani actress Nimra Khan has shared a chilling account of an attempted abduction she experienced in Karachi’s upscale Defense Housing Authority (DHA) neighborhood.
In an emotional video posted on her Instagram, Nimra Khan described the terrifying ordeal that unfolded as she was waiting for her family members outside the Ramada Creek Club.
According to the actress, three armed assailants approached her and tried to forcibly kidnap her.
Nimra recounted how one of the perpetrators even held a loaded gun to her stomach as she struggled to fend them off, all while desperately screaming for help. “I was standing there, my hands full with my phone and bags, when these goons came and tried to kidnap me,” she said. “I screamed and shouted for help, but not even the guards sitting right in front of me came to my aid.”
Miraculously, Nimra managed to break free and run towards a busy road, where she flagged down a passing car. The family inside the vehicle, as well as the entire Ramada team, provided assistance and helped the shaken actress to safety.
In her emotional testimony, Nimra expressed deep disappointment and a sense of vulnerability as a citizen of Pakistan, where she claims to be a diligent taxpayer yet still lives in constant fear for her life on the streets.
“I am so tired of this false sense of patriotism when citizens can’t even feel safe in their own country,” Nimra said, visibly shaken by the ordeal.
