An accountability court sent Imran Khan and Bushra Begum on an eight-day remand in a new Toshakhana reference on Sunday.
The federal government issued a notification for the jail trial of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the new Toshakhana reference on Saturday. A NAB team arrived in Adiala for the investigation early on Sunday
The jail trial notification has been issued under Section 16B of the NAB Ordinance 1999.
The notification states that the NAB court may conduct the trial of PTI chairman Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in jail if deemed necessary in view of the law and order situation.
The lawyers of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been informed about the jail trial notification.
The NAB team, led by Deputy Director Mohsin Parro, entered the jail through Gate No. 5. They are seeking the physical remand of the accused in the Toshakhana Reference II.

The hearing for the remand of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi will be held at Adiala Jail today before Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich.
Judge Warraich has also arrived at the jail to hear the case.
This development comes as the federal government has initiated a new Toshakhana reference against the former prime minister and his wife. The Toshakhana is a government department that stores gifts received by Pakistani officials from other states and dignitaries.
