The Federal Bureau of Investigation has officially stated that the attack on former US President Donald Trump was an assassination attempt. The gunman, now dead, has also been identified.
The shooting left one attendee dead and two others critically injured. All three were adult men, but their identities have not been publicly shared. Meanwhile, Trump has received medical attention and has made a statement.
President Joe Biden, who was in Delaware at the time, flew back to the White House early Sunday morning to continue being briefed by law enforcement. Biden said he had spoken with Trump and publicly condemned the shooting.
