Monsoon rains bring relief to Punjab and Azad Kashmir

The intense heat in various cities of Punjab has been broken with the arrival of the monsoon rains. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the monsoon winds are forecast to enter eastern Sindh this evening.

There is a possibility of rain in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sukkur, Larkana, Qambar, and Shahdadkot.

PMD has predicted rain, wind, and thundershowers in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, northeast Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with occasional gaps today.

In Punjab, the monsoon rains have arrived, providing relief from the intense heat.

PMD has forecasted that monsoon winds will enter eastern Sindh this evening, after which there is a possibility of rain in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sukkur, Larkana, Qambar, and Shahdadkot.

According to the PMD, heavy rainfall is expected across the country from July 5 until July 7.

Torrential rains are expected to cause flash flooding in local streams and nullahs in several regions from tonight through July 7th, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat, Kashmir, northeast Balochistan, and the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Heavy rainfall may also lead to urban flooding in cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 7 to 8.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that there is a possibility of light rainfall in Karachi on July 8th and 9th.

According to the PMD, the current temperature in the city of Karachi is 33 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 68%. The intensity of the heat is being felt up to 38 degrees Celsius.

After the first monsoon rains in Jhang and the surrounding areas, the intensity of the heat has subsided and the weather has become pleasant. The sky was overcast with dark clouds from early morning, and the strong and cool winds made the weather pleasant.
