These cities could receive rain over next 24 hours

Pakistan Metrological Department has predicted rain for several areas of Pakistan for the next 24 hours.

The weather forecast indicates that most parts of the country will experience hot and humid conditions.

However, some isolated areas, particularly in Kashmir, upper and central Punjab, Pothwar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, and south Sindh, are expected to receive rain, accompanied by wind storms and thundershowers.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with a possibility of gusty winds and thunderstorms with rain at some places in the morning and evening.

In most districts of KP, the weather is likely to be hot and humid. However, in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Khyber, Bajaur, and Kurram, there is a chance of gusty winds, thunderstorms, and rain at some locations.

Similarly, in most districts of Punjab, the weather will remain hot and humid. The areas such as Murree, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi, there is a possibility of gusty winds, thunderstorms, and rain at a few places.

In most areas of Balochistan and Sindh, the weather is expected to be hot and humid. owever, there is a possibility of gusty winds, thunderstorms, and rain at night in Tharparkar, Umerkot, and their surrounding areas.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather is likely to be partly cloudy with a chance of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms at some places.

In the country’s largest city, Karachi, the sea breezes have been restored, but the weather remains hot.

PMD has stated that Karachi will experience sea breezes at a speed of 27 km per hour with a possibility of hot weather in the next 24 hours.

The maximum temperature is expected to range between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in Karachi today.

According to the Met Office, the humidity level in Karachi’s atmosphere is 55%.

The Chief Meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, has stated that there is no possibility of rain in Karachi, at most there might be a few drizzles, and the sea breezes have been restored in the city, so the risk of heat stroke is now low.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan, a new spell of rain is expected to enter the various districts of Balochistan starting from July 3, according to PMD.

The new spell is expected to bring rainfall with thunderstorms to 15 districts of the province from July 3 to July 7.

The areas such as Lasbela, Khuzdar, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Kalat, Nasirabad, Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Musakhel, Kohlu, Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, and surrounding areas can receive thunderstorms.

Lahore is expected to experience a mix of sunshine and cloud cover throughout the day today.

The minimum temperature in the city is likely to be 29 degrees Celsius while the maximum could reach up to 39 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels are expected to remain high at around 70%, leading to humid conditions.

The weather experts state that there is only a 5% chance of rain in Lahore today.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned that the upper and central parts of Punjab will remain in the grip of monsoon storms from today until July 7.

The PDMA Director General, Irfan Ali Kathia, has said that the heavy rains could cause rivers and streams to overflow, and the storms may also damage electricity poles and solar panels.
