National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the basic electricity tariff by Rs 5.72 per unit, and fixed charges have also been implemented for electricity consumers. The authority has also set out pricing by slabs according to the units consumed.
For domestic consumers, the minimum rate has been set at Rs23.73 per unit. Consumers using up to 200 units for 6 consecutive months will be charged Rs26.11 per unit.

For commercial and industrial consumers, the new electricity rates have been set at up to 41 Rupees and 30 Rupees per unit respectively.
