The Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) teachers protested on Sunday against higher authorities for demanding them attend school during summer vacations in Rawalpindi.
They showed their concerns to the FGEIs director general, urging him to revise the regulations for teachers during the two-month holidays.
Protesters also stated the challenges they faced while commuting to the school far away from their house daily in the scorching weather.
Attending school for teachers during summer vacations was challenging as the announcement of summer holidays was announced on May 24, according to protesters.
Earlier this month, the Punjab administration announced that the holidays would commence from June 1 to July 31. The protesters wondered about the reason for attending schools during holidays.
They hoped that authorities would reconsider their decision as they could not manage their duties due to intense weather conditions.
