The United Kingdom has recently unveiled a graduate visa that provides opportunities for students to stay in the UK for at least 2 years after completing a course in the UK.
Students who are living in the UK, hold a student visa or Tier 4 (general) student visa, have completed a UK bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree, or another eligible course for a minimum period, or whose education provider has communicated about their graduation are eligible for this visa.
This visa lasts for around 2 years; however, students holding a PhD or other doctoral qualifications can stay for around 3 years.
The extension of a graduate visa is not permitted; however, individuals can switch to a different visa, such as a skilled worker visa.
Before the expiration of the student visa or Tier 4 (general) student visa, the individual must apply.
The application can be submitted once the educational institution (such as a university or college) has informed the Home Office of degree completion pursued under a student or Tier 4 (general) student visa. It is unnecessary to wait until graduation or receipt of a certificate before applying.
The applicants should have all the documents provided with the decision, which will be acquired in 8 weeks.
The application fee costs £822, and healthcare is usually charged at £1,035 for each year in the UK.
Healthcare practitioners, including doctors, nurses, and individuals employed in health or adult social care roles, are advised to explore eligibility for the Health and Care Worker visa. Healthcare applicants who have already paid the healthcare surcharge may be eligible for a refund.
The applicants can apply on the official UK website.
