Gwadar DC dismisses social media rumors about fence

Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Hamoodur Rahman has vehemently refuted baseless rumors circulating on various unreliable social media accounts over the past few days.

The deputy commissioner took the opportunity to address the false information and shed light on the city’s progress and government initiatives.

Deputy Commissioner Rahman highlighted that numerous unfounded rumors have been disseminated, falsely linking Gwadar to China and making ludicrous claims such as the construction of iron barricades around the city and other comical allegations.

He emphasized that the government of Balochistan is fully committed to the prosperity of Gwadar and the preservation of its traditional values and will ensure it at all costs.

Commissioner Rahman stated that Gwadar is being developed as an exemplary port and smart city in the region.

He added that the government has also approved the implementation of the Safe City project, following the pattern of other major cities in Pakistan, to curb crime, smuggling, and terrorism.

The project includes the installation of surveillance cameras and a modern traffic monitoring system.

However, the commissioner clarified that there are no plans for constructing barriers around Gwadar, nor is such an action under consideration.

Commissioner Rahman labeled the recent propaganda as a baseless attempt to hinder the progress and development of Gwadar, disrupt peace and security, and mislead the innocent citizens and youth of the city.

He urged the people to pay no attention to such false propaganda and assured them that the government was fully responsible for safeguarding the welfare of the citizens.

Commissioner Rahman also stressed the importance of empowering the youth through education and skills development for the progress of Balochistan and Gwadar.
