Shaikh Rasheed appointed as Interior Minister as PM Imran reshuffles cabinet

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reshuffled its cabinet with a newly assigned role to Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed as Interior Minister, while Hafeez Shaikh has been appointed as the federal minister for finance.

Ijaz Shah, who held the post of interior minister, has been given the Ministry of Narcotics Control. Ministry of Railways, formerly led by Shaikh Rasheed, has been given to Azam Khan Swati.

On December 7, the IHC had ruled that special assistants and advisers to the prime minister were not members of the cabinet and therefore, cannot be part of cabinet proceedings.
