The federal government has decided to keep petroleum prices unchanged for Sunday and Monday, maintaining the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel under the country’s new fuel pricing mechanism.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol will remain at Rs335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will continue to be sold at Rs383.46 per litre.

“In continuation of the press release issued on July 24, 2026, it is clarified that the following ex-depot prices of petroleum products for July 25, 2026, shall remain unchanged for July 26 and 27, 2026, due to non-publication of Platts prices on weekend,” the Petroleum Division said.

The decision comes a day after the government increased petrol by Rs3.66 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.80 per litre, marking the fifth consecutive increase since the introduction of daily fuel price revisions.

With Saturday’s decision, the government has paused the upward trend in fuel prices while retaining the latest rates.

Over the past week, petrol prices have risen by a cumulative Rs24.47 per litre, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs60.16 per litre under the new pricing regime.

Last week, the government replaced the previous weekly petroleum pricing system with a daily pricing mechanism, authorising the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to determine ex-depot petrol and diesel prices using a rolling seven-day average of international oil prices.

Officials say the new system enables quicker adjustments in response to fluctuations in global oil markets while making fuel pricing more transparent.

High-speed diesel is widely used in the transport, agriculture and industrial sectors, while petrol prices directly affect private motorists, public transport operators and commuters across the country.
