Security forces have killed three more militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district, taking the total number of militants killed in the ongoing campaign to 16, security sources said on Saturday.

According to the sources, the latest operation was carried out in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung, where security forces targeted suspected hideouts of militants belonging to the Fitna Al Hindustan terrorist group.

The sources said several militant hideouts were destroyed during the operation.

A cache of weapons, explosives and materials used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was also recovered.

Security sources added that several militants were reportedly wounded during the operation.

According to the sources, security forces will continue intelligence-based operations across Balochistan until terrorism is eliminated and lasting peace and stability are restored in the province.
