Karachi police rescue 13-year-old kidnap victim, arrest two suspects
1 min readThe Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Karachi police rescued a 13-year-old kidnapping victim and arrested two suspects following a targeted operation in Model Colony, police said on Friday.
The victim, identified as Yasser, had been abducted on June 20 from the Site Super Highway Industrial Area.
A case was registered at Site Super Highway police station before the investigation was transferred to the AVCC.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs2 million for the boy’s release, SSP AVCC Asif Raza Baloch said.
Acting on technical intelligence, AVCC teams conducted an operation in Model Colony and safely recovered Yasser.
Two suspects, Rohail Khan alias Kashif and Rohan Khan, were arrested during the raid. A 9mm pistol and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Akhtar Odho commended the SSP AVCC and his team for the successful operation.
“The safe recovery of the child is proof of Sindh Police’s professional capabilities,” the IG said, announcing CC First cash awards for the officers and personnel who participated in the operation.
