Youm-e-Ashur being observed with due solemnity

Youm-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram-ul-Haram, is being observed across the country today across the country with due solemnity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in Karbala.

Tight security arrangements have been made to protect the mourning processions and gatherings on the occasion.

Mourning processions are being taken out in several cities and towns across the country.

Ulema and Zakireen will highlight the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and various aspects of the Karbla tragedy.

Taazia and Zuljanah processions are being taken out to commemorate martyrs of Karbala and highlight their unprecedented sacrifice.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident during the Muharram-ul-Haram.

Processions carrying replicas of the Alam and Zuljanah are being taken out in cities and towns across the country amid stringent security arrangements.

In Lahore, the main Ashura procession began from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate and is proceeding towards Karbala Gamay Shah.

Thousands of mourners, including men, women and children, are participating in the procession.

In Karachi, the central Ashura procession is scheduled to begin later today from Nishtar Park following a Majlis-e-Aza.

Similar processions are also being held in Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gilgit, Skardu, Muzaffarabad and other cities.

To commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, devotees have arranged Niaz and Sabeels, providing meals and water, along procession routes for mourners and the public.
