The Sindh government on Monday announced public holidays on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to a Home Department notification, the holidays will be observed on June 25 and 26 to mark Ashura.

During Muharram, special security arrangements are also being put in place across the country in view of religious gatherings and processions.

Authorities have issued directives to relevant departments to ensure law and order and the safety of citizens.

According to the Sindh Home Department notification, all government and private institutions, educational centres, and offices across the province will remain closed on the two days.
