Terrorist affiliated with Sindhudesh army arrested in Rangers, CTD raid
1 min readPakistan Rangers Sindh and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday arrested wanted terrorist Abdul Jabbar Sirki, affiliated with the banned Sindhudesh Republican Army (SRA), during a joint operation.
A Sindh Rangers spokesperson said the arrest was made during a snap-checking of vehicles at a checkpost on the Hub River road near Karachi.
The arrested terrorist was on the list of most wanted suspects in the CTD Red Book.
Weapons, detonators, and explosive material used for making bombs were recovered from the suspect’s possession.
During questioning, Abdul Jabbar Sirki admitted to a grenade attack on a Rangers post in 2020.
The attack had caused injuries to two passersby and partially damaged the post.
The spokesperson confirmed that Sirki was an active member of the SRA under commander Sajad Shah since 2020 and was listed as a high-priority target in the CTD’s Red Book.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had also conducted a recce in Gulshan-e-Hadeed for a planned terrorist attack on August 14.
Authorities stated that raids are ongoing to arrest other accomplices linked to the suspect.
Abdul Jabbar Sirki has been handed over to the CTD for further legal proceedings.
