Pakistan, Qatar PMs discuss regional situation, pledge continued diplomatic efforts

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed on Thursday the regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East during a telephone call.

During the conversation, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing diplomatic efforts for peace, security and stability in the region.

According to the statement, the Qatari prime minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability and assured Sharif of Qatar’s full support for Pakistan-led diplomatic initiatives in the Middle East.

PM Shehbaz said the people of Pakistan were looking forward to the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Pakistan, adding that the visit would help further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two leaders also agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest.
