The alleged rape case involving YouTuber Rajab Butt and others could not reach the indictment stage after proceedings in a Lahore court on Wednesday.

The case was heard in the Lahore Sessions Court before Additional Sessions Judge Yasir Arafat, where the accused Rajab Butt, Jahangir, Jawad Ali and Abdul Rehman appeared. However, no indictment was framed during the hearing.

After arguments from both sides, the court adjourned the matter and fixed the next hearing for May 11, indicating that a decision may be announced at that time.

The case stems from an FIR registered at Nawab Town Police Station.

The complainant, a female social media activist, alleged that she was called to a house in Bahria Orchard, given an intoxicating drink, and later found she had been raped after regaining consciousness.

She further alleged that when she later confronted the accused along with her sister, Rajab Butt and others locked them in a room, snatched their mobile phones, reset them, and threatened them before throwing them out.

The FIR was registered on June 10, 2025, against five accused persons.

However, during proceedings on June 24, 2025, the investigating officer submitted a statement claiming that allegations against Rajab Butt and two other accused were found to be baseless, and no evidence supported the claims.

The police maintained that the accused were found innocent during the investigation.
