Pakistan repays $3.45bn deposits to UAE, SBP confirms

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has confirmed the full repayment of $3.45 billion to the United Arab Emirates, completing its obligations to the UAE, according to an official statement.

The central bank said $1 billion was repaid on April 23, 2026, to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

It added that $2.45 billion had already been repaid last week.

With the latest transaction, the SBP said the total repayment of $3.45 billion to the UAE has now been completed.
