Medical student’s death sparks harassment allegations in Mirpurkhas
1 min readA 21-year-old medical student in Mirpurkhas has allegedly died by suicide, with her family accusing teachers and fellow students of harassment.
According to relatives, the third-year student, identified as Faheema, shot herself at home after facing sustained harassment at a private medical college. They claim both faculty members and a group of male students were involved.
Police confirmed that a post-mortem has been conducted and the student’s mobile phone has been taken into custody. Officials said a formal case will be registered once the family files a complaint.
Sindh Tourism Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah contacted the family and assured full cooperation. He directed senior police officials to launch an immediate inquiry and ensure the arrest of those responsible.
The incident has raised serious concerns about harassment within educational institutions, as investigations continue.
