France reclaims top spot in FIFA rankings after eight years

France has reclaimed the top spot in the latest FIFA men’s football rankings, returning to number one for the first time in eight years.

Spain slipped one place to second, while reigning world champions Argentina held steady in third.

England remained fourth, and Portugal moved up one position to complete the top five.

The rankings also saw a significant fall for Pakistan, which dropped three places to 202nd after a defeat to Myanmar.

FIFA updates its rankings periodically based on international match results, reflecting changes in team performances worldwide.
