Pakistan to form unit for foreign nationals’ security
1 min readFederal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday visited the Chinese Embassy and met Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong, officials said.
Upon arrival at the embassy, Ambassador Jiang welcomed the interior minister. During the meeting, counter-terrorism, security cooperation, police exchange programmes and other important issues were discussed, while the overall regional situation was also reviewed.
It was decided to organise a business conference to address security issues faced by Chinese investors in Pakistan.
In the first phase, meetings will be held with the Chinese business community in Pakistan, followed by talks with potential Chinese investors in the second phase.
Naqvi said a Special Protection Unit is being established in Islamabad to protect foreign citizens, adding that it will ensure the security of Chinese nationals in the capital. He said personnel of the unit will also be taught the Chinese language during training.
