Daughter of PPP Senator Sherry Rehman dies at 39

Marvi Khurshid Malik, the only daughter of senior politician and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sherry Rehman, has died at the age of 39, prompting expressions of grief across political, social and journalistic circles.

According to family sources, Malik was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi in critical condition due to cerebral embolism. She was placed on a ventilator but could not survive.

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep sorrow and grief over her death and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased, saying he hoped the bereaved family would have the strength to bear the loss.

Shazia Marri also expressed grief, saying she was deeply saddened and shocked by the news, and extended condolences to Rehman and her family.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said in a post on X that the death was an incredible loss and that his prayers were with the family during the difficult time.

Journalists and other party leaders also expressed condolences.

According to reports, funeral prayers will be offered in Karachi on Monday, March 23, 2026.
