Tanzid Hasan’s maiden ton lifts Bangladesh to 290/5 in series decider
2 min readBangladesh posted the highest total of the series after opener Tanzid Hasan scored his maiden One-Day International (ODI) century to help the hosts set a 291-run target for Pakistan in the third and final ODI.
After being asked to bat first by Pakistan, Bangladesh put up 290 for 5 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Tanzid Hasan led the charge with his first ODI hundred, anchoring Bangladesh’s innings and guiding the team to the highest total of the three-match series.
Interestingly, the total was recorded on the same pitch where Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in the first ODI of the series.
Toss and team changes
The match is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, where Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and chose to field first against Bangladesh.
Speaking after the toss, Afridi said that two players, Shamyl Hussain and Hussain Talat, were unavailable due to injuries.
In their place, two new players — Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood — were given the opportunity to make their debut for the national team.
Pakistan made three changes to the playing XI for today’s match. Debutants Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood received their debut caps, with Haris Rauf presenting the cap to Saad Masood and Mohammad Rizwan presenting the cap to Ghazi Ghori.
Hussain Talat missed the match due to injury, while Shamyl Hussain was also dropped from the squad. Additionally, Abrar Ahmed was included in the team in place of Mohammad Wasim.
