The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced special measures in the education department for two months to save fuel, banning the private use of official vehicles and restricting several activities, including meetings and workshops outside district limits.

According to an official statement, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to implement a special plan in the education department during March and April to reduce fuel consumption.

Under the plan, the private use of government vehicles has been completely banned.

Officials and staff of the education department have also been restricted from holding official meetings and workshops outside their district limits.

The statement further said that secretariat officers have been barred from travelling outside the district in official vehicles without prior permission.

All educational institutions have also been directed to reduce petrol and diesel consumption by 50 per cent during March and April.

In addition, teachers and other employees working under the education department will not be allowed to visit district education offices.

The statement added that the procedure for submitting complaints and leave applications has also been changed.

All requests will now be submitted online, and teachers and staff will file their applications and complaints through the relevant portal.
