The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for rain across several areas of the province, including the Potohar region, Murree, Galiat and surrounding localities, the authority said on Monday.

Rain is also expected in the northern areas of Punjab from March 9 to 11, according to the PDMA.

A spokesperson for the authority said temperatures in the plains could rise by three to four degrees Celsius over the next few days.

The PDMA has directed relevant agencies to remain on alert and urged citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the weather conditions.
