Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair an important meeting today (Monday) at the Prime Minister’s House, where the fuel crisis caused by US-Israeli air attacks on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory strikes will be discussed.

The meeting will also review the national and global situation and chalk out austerity measures to cope with the rising oil prices in the international markets.

The meeting will be attended by all provincial chief ministers and the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources indicate that the meeting will focus on the overall administrative and economic situation of the country.

A key decision to be made is the approval of the national austerity policy, which will be reached with consensus between the federal and provincial governments.

The policy aims to reduce the financial burden on the public and provide relief measures, with a joint action plan expected to be formulated in the meeting.

Other major discussions include proposals to conduct official communications via Zoom, online classes for schools and colleges, and the introduction of a work-from-home policy for government offices.

The meeting is expected to prepare economic strategies and action plans to lessen the burden on the people.
