Punjab orders crackdown on petroleum hoarding ahead of Eid
1 min readAn important meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman at the Civil Secretariat reviewed the prices and availability of essential commodities, officials said.
During the meeting, the chief secretary, acting on instructions from the federal government, directed deputy commissioners to immediately launch a crackdown against the hoarding of petroleum products.
Zaman said strict action would be taken against those involved in hoarding petroleum products.
He also ordered that price control measures be further tightened during the last ten days of Ramadan, adding that authorities would maintain a “zero tolerance” policy against hoarders and illegal profiteers.
The chief secretary directed all price magistrates to remain active in the field, saying overselling would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He also instructed officials to closely monitor the supply of fruits and vegetables ahead of Eid.
All divisional and district officers and other concerned officials attended the meeting through a video link.
