The federal government has imposed a nationwide ban on drone flights citing security concerns, the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday.

According to an official notification, the restriction applies to all drone operations across the country, including commercial and recreational use, to prevent potential security threats and ensure public safety.

Officials said the decision was taken in view of risks associated with the misuse of drones, which could pose challenges to law enforcement and national security.

The Interior Ministry has directed all provincial governments to ensure strict implementation of the ban, while relevant authorities have been instructed to monitor compliance within their respective jurisdictions.

Government sources said the security situation will remain under review and additional measures may be introduced if required.

The ministry also urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and comply fully with the imposed restrictions.
