Seven injured in twin blasts in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony
1 min readAt least seven people, including two young girls, were injured in two separate explosions reported in Shah Faisal Colony on Tuesday, police and rescue officials said.
The first incident occurred in Shah Faisal Colony No. 4, where an explosion was reported inside a two-storey shop building.
Police said the ground floor housed a cooking centre, while a battery shop operated on the upper floor.
Five people, including two minor girls, were injured and shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
Officials said the shop was closed at the time, and those injured were standing outside.
In a separate incident in Shah Faisal Colony No. 1, a UPS battery reportedly exploded inside a mobile market shop, injuring two men identified as Zeeshan and Farhad.
They were also moved to Jinnah Hospital.
Senior Superintendent of Police Malir Zubair Nazir said investigators were reviewing conflicting eyewitness accounts.
Some witnesses suggested a gas cylinder blast, while others pointed to a battery explosion.
The bomb disposal squad was called in to determine the exact nature of the first blast.
Police said investigations were underway and rescue and assessment operations had been completed at both sites.
