The satellite was launched from China’s Yangtze River Seashore Centre, the spokesperson said.
The EO-2 satellite will enhance Pakistan’s Earth observation and imaging capabilities, according to SUPARCO.
The spokesperson said the launch of the EO-2 satellite is a symbol of the country’s space expertise and will provide important data for planning and resource management.
The launch will increase Pakistan’s satellite fleet and improve the continuity and accuracy of observations, the spokesperson added.
It will also contribute to Pakistan’s satellite leadership, natural disaster management and strategic planning.
The spokesperson said EO-2 demonstrates Pakistan’s self-reliance in satellite manufacturing. SUPARCO launched the EO-1 satellite in January 2025.
