Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was allowed to meet his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, with the meeting held in the prison’s conference room, sources said.

According to officials, the meeting lasted for more than half an hour.

On the same day, senior lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar was also permitted to meet Imran Khan.

Family members, including Khan’s sisters, and several PTI leaders arrived at the jail for a scheduled meeting but were stopped at the Marble Factory checkpoint.

Those present included Barrister Gohar, Latif Khosa, Salman Akram Raja, Shaukat Basra, Qasim Khan, Naeem Haider Panjotha and Fatahullah Burki.

After being denied access, Khan’s sisters and party workers staged a sit-in at the checkpoint, which continued for more than five hours. The protest ended later, and participants dispersed.

Authorities allowed only Barrister Salman Safdar to enter the jail through Gate No. 5.

Bushra Bibi’s family was also permitted to enter through the same gate.

Sources said the meeting between Khan and Barrister Safdar lasted nearly three hours. The lawyer later left the prison after completing the visit.
