1 min readPakistan’s opening batter, Sahibzada Farhan, on Tuesday achieved a major career milestone by completing 1,000 runs in T20 International cricket during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match against the United States in Colombo.
The 29-year-old reached the landmark in his 41st T20I innings while playing a key role in Pakistan’s victory over the USA at the SSC Ground.
Farhan is now the 10th Pakistani batter to score 1,000 runs in T20 internationals.
The list includes Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman, Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad, Shahid Afridi and Saim Ayub.
In the Group A encounter, Farhan produced a match-defining innings of 73 off 41 balls, smashing five sixes and six fours.
His aggressive knock laid the foundation for Pakistan’s strong total and earned him widespread praise.
The opener was named among the standout performers of the match and was instrumental in helping Pakistan secure their second consecutive win in the tournament.
Speaking after the game, Farhan said he would aim to maintain the same level of performance in the upcoming high-profile clash against India.
Farhan’s milestone and match-winning display further strengthened his position as a key figure in Pakistan’s T20 setup ahead of crucial fixtures in the World Cup.
