Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, visited Quetta on Wednesday and reviewed the security situation amid recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief received a detailed briefing on internal security operations and the prevailing law and order environment.

The briefing covered recent attacks orchestrated by Indian-backed, internationally designated terrorists of “Fitna al-Hindustan” and the swift response by security forces.

The ISPR said the operations foiled attempts to disrupt peace, stability and development in the Balochistan.

Officials also briefed the army chief on measures being taken to strengthen the writ of the state and improve the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure.

Field Marshal Munir said no terrorist or facilitator would be spared and that all would be dealt with strictly under the law.

“No one can justify violence and terrorism on any pretext,” he said.

He praised the professionalism, courage and sacrifices of personnel from the army and law enforcement agencies for countering “anti-Pakistan designs” and maintaining law and order.

Later, accompanied by Balochistan Chief Minister, Field Marshal Munir visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta, where he met injured personnel of the army, Frontier Corps and police.

He lauded their morale and commended their bravery and commitment to defending the country against foreign-sponsored terrorists.

Earlier, on his arrival in Quetta, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Quetta Corps commander.
