The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs6.37 per kilogram, according to a notification issued on Saturday.

Following the revision, the price of LPG has been fixed at Rs226.05 per kg.

Ogra said the increase has pushed up the price of an 11.8-kg domestic LPG cylinder by Rs75.21, taking its new retail price to Rs2,667.40.

The revised prices have been notified and are applicable with immediate effect.

LPG is widely used for cooking, particularly in areas not connected to the natural gas network, and the increase is expected to add to household fuel costs.
