Security sources on Friday rejected reports of a large-scale military operation in the Tirah Valley, saying security forces are conducting intelligence-based operations (IBOs) to dismantle militant networks and that actions will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.

Briefing media representatives in Karachi, security officials said there was no full-fledged ground operation in Tirah and no increase in troop strength.

They said targeted IBOs were underway based on intelligence inputs, adding that current weather conditions were not suitable for a major operation.

According to the sources, terrorist elements in the Tirah Valley include an alliance of militants of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij.

They said claims of a large military offensive were “false and baseless propaganda” aimed at creating confusion.

Security sources said forces were acting strictly on actionable intelligence and would continue operations until the complete elimination of terrorist elements.

They added that the nexus between terrorists and criminal groups had been exposed and that no narrative could drive a wedge between the armed forces and the public.

The sources stressed that all decisions related to Tirah were taken in consultation with local tribal elders, keeping local traditions and ground realities in view.

They said the people of the tribal areas were being engaged throughout the process and that misinformation campaigns regarding Tirah were being deliberately spread.

Commenting on the security situation in Balochistan, the sources said militant elements linked to Fitna al-Hindustan were enemies of public welfare and development.

They said the slogan of deprivation was being used to justify terrorism, but the people of Balochistan had recognised these elements as opponents of development and public facilities.

They cited development projects in the province, saying more than 25,000 kilometres of roads and four cardiac hospitals had been built in Balochistan.

Referring to “Maarka-e-Haq,” security sources said the Pakistan Army had dealt a decisive blow to the enemy and warned that any renewed aggression by India would be met with an even stronger response. They said India was attempting to destabilise peace in Pakistan and that, on the direction of the Field Marshal, forces had also remained deployed along the western border during the operation.

The sources further alleged that India was funding militant groups operating in Afghanistan and Balochistan. They said Pakistan had achieved significant progress in drone technology and reiterated that a strong and independent media was essential for the country.

They acknowledged the role of Pakistani media during “Maarka-e-Haq,” saying it played a key and responsible role at a critical time.
