Mari Energies Limited has announced the discovery of gas in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district, marking a significant development for the country’s energy sector.

In an official statement, the company said gas was discovered at the Tibri-1 well located in the Kalchas South Block of Dera Bugti. The reserves were found at a depth of 7,170 feet.

Initial testing results showed a gas flow ranging between 6.5 million to 11 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

Further testing is currently underway to determine the well’s full production potential.

The project is being operated by United Energy Pakistan Limited, while Mari Energies Limited and Dewan Petroleum are partners in the joint venture.

The discovery has been described as a positive step towards strengthening Pakistan’s energy security, supporting industrial growth and contributing to economic stability.

Officials said the find was facilitated under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), aimed at accelerating investment and development in the energy sector, particularly in Balochistan.
