Australian team arrived in Lahore for three-match T20I series
3 min readThe 17-member Australian squad for the T20 series between Pakistan and Australia has arrived in Lahore. The first match of the series will be played on Thursday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The second match of the three-match series will be played on January 31, while the third and final match will be played on February 1 at Gaddafi Stadium.
The trophy of the three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Australia was unveiled, while Pakistan team captain Salman Ali Agha and Australian team captain Mitchell Marsh also held a press conference after the unveiling of the trophy.
While holding a pre-series press conference in Lahore before the series, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh said that he is very excited for this series against Pakistan and considers it very important for both teams.
Mitchell Marsh said that this series is very important in terms of preparation for the World Cup, and the Australian team is fully prepared for the matches against Pakistan. He said that the history of Pakistan’s fast bowlers has been wonderful and memorable, due to which a tough competition is expected in this series.
The Australian captain also made an interesting comment on the weather in Lahore and said that he had no idea that it would be so cold in Pakistan at that time. He said that the team did not bring much warm clothing; however, the players are trying to adapt to the conditions.
Mitchell Marsh praised former Pakistan captain Babar Azam and said that he respects Babar Azam as a player and considers him a top-class batsman. He also said that he will make the final decision regarding his playing tonight or tomorrow.
Former Australia Test batter Simon Katich is set to return to Pakistan as a commentator for the three-match T20I series between the hosts and Australia starting Thursday.
He last visited Pakistan in March 2022 to call the three-match Test series, and Australia then returned to the country after 24 years.
Joining Katich in the commentary box will be former Pakistan Test captains Aamir Sohail and Ramiz Raja, along with former Test batter Bazid Khan.
Former Pakistan Women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz is also part of the five-member commentary panel for the series.
The High-Definition broadcast coverage of the series will be carried out with the help of 28 cameras, which also include a buggy cam. HawkEye and UltraEdge will be part of the Decision Review System (DRS) Technology.
Fans can catch the highly-anticipated live-action of the series on PTV Sports in Pakistan, while Tamasha, Tapmad and Myco will provide the live-stream in the country.
For the fans abroad, T Sports (Bangladesh), Willow (North America), Cricbuzz (MENA), SuperSport (Africa) and Fox Sports (Australia) will broadcast the action. The live-streaming will also be available on the PCB Live for the fans in the United Kingdom.
