Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation through structured dialogue and sustained engagement, officials said after a meeting between the two countries’ finance ministers on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Kouchouk, where both sides reviewed economic developments and explored avenues to deepen cooperation.

Aurangzeb briefed the Egyptian minister on Pakistan’s ongoing engagement with international financial institutions, saying key macroeconomic indicators are showing improvement.

He said the government is pressing ahead with structural reforms, including technology-driven measures to enhance governance and strengthen revenue administration.

Kouchouk welcomed Pakistan’s reform efforts, particularly in taxation, and expressed confidence in the direction of reforms currently underway, according to officials.
