The Karachi police on Saturday arrested a serial rapist, who is accused of sexually assaulting over 100 children.

The accused was arrested by the East Investigation Team of the Karachi Police in the Tipu Sultan area.

According to senior police officials, the investigation team took action after being tipped off by the affected children.

The main suspects in the case have been identified as Imran and Waqas Khan.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Usman Sadozai, seven complaints of sexual abuse were filed with the police between 2020 and 2025.

In all of these cases, the DNA of the same personwas found, which shocked the police.

Sadozai stated that all victims were aged between 12 and 13 years, while in one case, the victim was abused by two individuals.

A special team was formed on the instructions of Additional IG Azad Khan on January 6 to investigate the case, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Police said that the arrested suspects will be presented in court, and a remand will be sought to continue the investigation.

Sadozai emphasised that DNA tests were immediately conducted in all cases, and the action had been taken on the basis of collected evidence.

Sindh CM praises police

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah congratulated the police over the arrest of the alleged rapit and termed it a significant success.

The chief minister maintained that child abuse would never be tolerated and that there was no place for such predators in the city.

He stated that while only seven victims had come forward so far, the police must continue their efforts to identify and bring justice to all affected children.

Murad Ali Shah directed the Additional IG Karachi to present the accused in court based on the available evidence.

He also sought a daily progress report in this regard.
