UAE denies supplying weapons to Yemeni separatist
The UAE denied Saudi’s accusations on weapons supply to Yemeni separatists on Tuesday, saying that the allegations made about the UAE’s role in this matter are based on misrepresentation.
The statement issued by the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the UAE categorically rejects any attempt to intervene in the tensions between the Yemeni parties.
The statement said that, “UAE fully respects the security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and firmly believes that the brotherly and historical relations between the two countries are the basis of regional stability”.
“The UAE always seeks to maintain full harmony with its Saudi brothers”.
The statement said, “It was confirmed that there were no weapons in the shipment and that the vehicles that were unloaded were not sent for any Yemeni group but for the use of the UAE forces, and there was full coordination with Saudi Arabia in this regard”.
According to the statement, an agreement was reached with Saudi Arabia that the UAE forces would join the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Yemeni government and within the framework of the coalition.
The aim of which is to support Yemen’s sovereignty, restoration of its legal status and the fight against terrorism.
According to the statement, the UAE has made significant sacrifices in Yemen to achieve these goals and has supported the brotherly Yemeni people at various stages. The Emirati Foreign Ministry added that recent issues should be resolved responsibly in order to avoid any escalation.
