PIA flight makes emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after technical fault
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight travelling from Jeddah to Lahore made an emergency landing at Dammam airport in Saudi Arabia after developing a technical fault mid-air, airline sources said on Saturday.
The flight, PK-860, was carrying 381 passengers when the issue was detected during the journey. As a precaution, the aircraft was diverted and landed safely at Dammam.
Sources said oxygen masks were deployed inside the cabin during the emergency landing. Airport authorities at Dammam declared an emergency to facilitate the operation.
The aircraft landed without incident and all passengers remained safe, according to PIA sources.
PIA has dispatched an alternate aircraft to transport the stranded passengers to Lahore, the sources added.
