An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Thursday issued bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, in the November 26 protest case and ordered the confiscation of her surety bonds, amounting to Rs2 million.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah conducted the hearing of the case registered against Aleema Khan and 10 other accused.

The court noted that Aleema Khan and her counsel failed to appear, despite the case being called twice during proceedings.

The court ordered the seizure of two surety bonds worth Rs1 million each and issued notices to both guarantors for the recovery of the amount.

The ATC also issued a contempt of court notice to Aleema Khan for failing to deposit an Rs80,000 penalty earlier imposed on her.

Prosecution argued that the accused had assured the court she would appear at every hearing, and requested confiscation of the sureties due to her absence — a plea the court accepted.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned until December 15.
