LPG prices in Pakistan have been increased for December, with the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) citing production costs linked to Saudi Aramco and the US dollar exchange rate.

The price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder has been raised by Rs87.21, bringing the new cost to Rs2,466.10.

The per-kilogram price of LPG has increased by Rs7.49 to Rs208.95.

According to OGRA, the rise reflects a 4.93% increase in Saudi Aramco’s OSP over the past month, while the average exchange rate of the US dollar declined by 0.15% during the same period.

Saudi Aramco’s December OSP increased by $20 per metric ton to $495 per ton for propane and by $25 per ton to $485 per ton for butane.

Propane and butane are types of LPG with different boiling points.

Aramco’s OSPs are used as a reference for contracts to supply LPG from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific region.

The regulator issued the official notification for December, setting the revised LPG rates applicable nationwide as the cold season drives higher domestic consumption.
